| It's been a long time, so I thought I'd write.
I did finally finish A Million Little Pieces, and I wouldn't recommend it...it is a really rough book! REALLY ROUGH! But, it did open my eyes to the reality of the and alcohol addiction that many people experience. Recovering from something like that seems to be almost impossible; and most who go through programs like AA, end up back where they started. The success rate is very small! So, I will say this, "Do all things in moderation!"
Secondly, I am very interested in catering or working with a catering company, or even doing something like event planning where I would be the mediator between cooks/florists/decorators, and the people who are planning an event. If anyone KNOWS or has connections to someone who works in this type of field, PLEASE let me know! I would love to ask find out more information about this area of service. I think this is really what I want to do, and it is important to find a job that fits you, your personality, and your skills. I can honestly say that after a year of working part-time at a job just because it is a job, and not because I like it.

| well, I haven't updated in a while, so I'll do it for you, Elliot!
First of all, any of you who know Halley Norton, her dad is having surgery to remove a prostate cancer this morning, so please keep him in your prayers. Pray that the cancer will not have spread.
Well, I hope all of you college students are enjoying your summer! It is still weird to not have a summer break from work...enjoy it while you can! Funny story--Walt and I drove our cars out to drop one off for a maintenence check up. After dropping it off, we got into the Honda and rode out to "The Love Shack" (the Wofford's newly renovated Reservoir house). We were sitting around outside when Peyton pointed out that we had left our lights on (Walt had been driving). Well, I asked Walt where my keys were so I could turn the lights off, but couldn't find them. So, I looked into the car only to find my keys in the ignition and his keys in the cup holder! Ah, the joys of being locked out of a car. And let me assure you, this is not the first time we have locked both sets of keys in the car since we have been married!
By the way, I'm reading this book (well I bought it yesterday and have only read 2 chapters), and it is really intense. I don't know if I'd recommend it yet (it's about a guy's recovery from alcholism and drug addiction), but I'll let you know how it turns out!

| "And I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel 'cause I taste it on your lips and I feel a weight that can bend me double you lift it with your fingertips so often it happens that words prove useless in the face of how it feels so it is as the mystery of love keeps growing the more my heart reveals"
"And your heart ain't yours to control no matter how tight the reigns love will find it's own direction"
"For all that we struggle for all we pretend it don't come down to nothing except love in the end and ours is a road that is strewn with goodbyes but as it unfolds as it all unwinds remember your soul is the one thing you can't compromise take my hand we're gonna go where we can shine!"
What a poignant songwriter!!!

| ahh...tax day 2004! I have just this year discovered the frenzy behind sending in your taxes...go to the post office today and you might get a taste of it. Walt has been working on his taxes for hours at a time. Thankfully, he's doing it all...i wouldn't even know where to begin. But, get ready all of you who are about to be in the real world next year...there is one thing that is for sure...TAX TIME!
Oh, for all of you Jacksonians, check out Pillow Donuts next time you're home...located across from Colonial Heights Baptist in that little shopping center; anyone who knows Bailey Adams, he eats there like every morning now...I don't know if I'd suggest that necessarily...also, pick up a cup of coffee from The Jumping Bean, the newly converted double decker bus in the Highland Village parking lot! These are a great combination for breakfast...check it out! Yum!
| HAPPY DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!
I love daylight savings time, although it is even harder to get up in the mornings. It's a weird thing when you have to be at work in the morning, not class. Class is an option, and I guess work can be an option, but it's better if you don't treat it as that; there are more devastating consequences to not showing up to work on time.
Maybe this is a stupid question, but are we the only time zone that goes through daylight savings time? I imagine we are not, but I know that my cousins in Indiana stay on the same time all year round, which I guess is Eastern Time. I love "spring forward," but I hate "fall back." It's depressing for it to be darker at an earlier hour, especially when it is getting colder and drearier by the day.
Spring is my favorite time of year. It's so inspiring. I've figured out why there is such a phrase as "Spring cleaning." Walt is a perfect example of this phenomena. He came home one beautiful day and said, "I'm sick of everything being a mess. I'm going to clean up my office and work in the yard an hour a week and get organized." (This coming from a person that is not so neat.) I was thrilled to hear these words uttered from his lips!! SPRING HAD TAKEN AN EFFECT ON HIS LIFESTYLE...or we are still hoping it will! Because we look out and see the beautiful flowers, and well-manicured lawns, and hear birds chirping, we are inspired to be clean and fresh and neat! This, I think, is the explanation for the "spring cleaning" phenomena!
